routers.cgi*Graph[10.10.10.10_20]: combined withtotal
routers.cgi*Graph[10.10.10.10_30]: combined withtotal

I'm not seeing an interface named combined for the routers1.cfg device. Is there something in the routers2.conf file I need to check?

Thanks

Rick

You only need to do this Include method if the Targetnames you're trying to include are spread over multiple .cfg files. In your case, both the targets are in the same .cfg file, so you can put the Userdefined in there as well.

So, first, get rid of this border.cfg. You don't need to do this trick, because you are not making a virtual .cfg over multiple existing .cfg files.

Now edit the router1.cfg, and (after the Target[] definitions) add the 'routers.cgi*Graph[targetname]: combined withtotal' lines. Dont bother about the InMenu lines, since a userdefined is in the menu by default.

Now, when you view the routers1.cfg Device, you willsee a new item in the Targets menu called 'combined', which will have these two targets on the same graph (ie, 4 lines). There will also be a 'total' line with the total of these 4. You can use other 'noo', 'noi', 'withaverage', 'withtotal', 'nodetails', and so onto change the options for the userdefined graph.

I am attempting to create a graph that combines two interfaces on a single router. I attempted to follow your instructions in this topic, but so far have been only able to create a new graph that contains ONLY graphs of the two interfaces I'm trying to combine. What I've done so far is...

created border.cfg (new .cfg not processed by mrtg)
I included the following text in border.cfg

Include: router1.cfg
routers.cgi*InMenu[_]: no
routers.cgi*Graph[10.10.10.10_20]: combined total
routers.cgi*Graph[10.10.10.10_30]: combined
routers.cgi*InMenu[combined]: yes

As I mentioned, I do get a new graph, but it contains a separate graph for each of the above interfaces. Also, neither routers.cgi*InMenu command seems to work. The border.cfg file I created is included in the left hand column. Any help would be appreciated. I'm a bit of a newbie with routers2, but have been running mrtg for many years.

Thanks

RD

I need to set up an aggregate total graph that has sources on different routers. Basically, I want a total of all ingress and egress traffic on a network with mulitple connections. I have read through the FAQ, and the groups and haven't found a similar problem. Is there a way to do this with routers2.cgi, and can you point me in the proper direction?

Much obliged,

-=Scott
