Checking the documentation shows that all alarms are still propagated to the triggeredAlarmState property; however the user needs to have appropriate permissions to view.

Is it possible that the user you are using for the Nagios plugin does not have rights to view the alarm states on the objects in question? Under 4.x there are many more layers of permissions control so this might be the case.

This is supposed to monitor any alarms... it uses the VCentre API call to retrieve all alarms via the normal method and shouldnt require anything special to get custom ones.

I'll take a look at the latest API documentation to see if anything has changed, or if custom alarms now appear in a different location.
