If using RRDtools mode MRTG, then the Routers2 frontend has a 'summary' page that shows all component Targets for a device.

To make a map, you need an external program. We use Network Weathermap ( http://network-weathermap.com/ ) which has plugins to read RRD files. I've also made plugins to read data from Nagios and remote ( rrdcached ) RRD files.

I ran your script cisco.hpt and it seem to have ran fine no errors, this is the first script in the list, for my 3560 switch it currently puts all .html files in the www/mrtg dir and I load the Gig uplink interface to see whats happening at the uplink.

My needs are to host a web page with all the interfaces, would you have any idea how I can see the entire switch ? I can pull a page per interface which is not a desariable way to view statistics for the device

Ok I got it, can u say indexmaker wow reading is fundemental. I have another question, is there a map with MRTG where you can list all IP hosts and the program pulls devices together on one Map that you would then arrange?

I thought there was, someone correct me if I'm wrong

Also I run perl cfgmaker --host-template=cisco.htp communitystring@IP-device --global "workDir: D:\www\mrtg" --output mrtg_XX.cfg -- the XX is number to define the router or switch number - also I could name this output file anything right ? as long as its a .cfg ...

There is also extensive documentation on cfg files themselves http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/mrtg-reference.en.html
The Routers2 extensions are documented in the files in the doc subdirectory of the Routers2 distribution.
You might also like to consider buying the book which has a lot of details http://www.steveshipway.org/book/

Run MRTG on the cfg file from the command line. Does it work? Do you get any errors?

Make sure your MRTG daemon (or scheduler, depending on what you use) is actually running. Capture its error logs to see what's going on.

This should help... a lot of it depends on what OS and configuration you use, of course...

im using debian.

i have installed all the CISCO mibs.my in the correct places and when i run cfgmaker against the cfg file i get no errors.
just the rrd graphs are not there.

before i did this i was getting the graphs. i cant find any logs anywhere that displays errors ( except the snmp v6 ones ) but im not using v6 so its not that.

There's always the possibility as wel that c:\mrtg\wwwroot doesn't exist on the machine, or that it is not writeable by the MRTG process...

How and where you call cfgmaker depends on your installation, and if you are using the MRTG Bundle install it may not be possible to fully automate this.

These are really cood - much more comprehensive than mine, which ony does CPU.

It's worth noting, though, that these load the Cisco MIB from the standard Linux location in order to get symbolic names, so if you are not using Linux with the Cisco MIB installed they will need modification. The first one, although limited, uses numeric OIDs to avoid this problem.
