| Post subject: | Will this let you do script summaries? |

Yes, you can use routers2.cgi to create summaries from existing targets. You can either do this by using the UserDefined graph feature to define a single graph that has lines from multiple Target[]s, or you can define a dummy .cfg file that is not called by MRTG, but which Include:s the other .cfg files, then uses the routers.cgi*InSummary[] and InMenu[] directives to choose which appear in the summary page. At the moment, there is no way to have multiple summary page sets defined (this is coming). Examples of .cfg files to do this are in the example routers.cgi server on this web site. |

I really like how you have the + on your sample server to break things into groups (now if I can just figure out how to do it!) I'm working my way through the examples (as best as I can figure) but have a few questions. In your example of routers2.conf you have under [targetnames]: /home/stevesh/public_html/mrtg/conf/hosts = Server monitoring is hosts a directory, .conf file or .cfg file? I can't seem to get an example of that to see how it passes over to it or how it brings in the cfg files. I have made a "alltrafficsummary.cfg" file and put: routers.cgi*Ignore: yes Interval: 1 PathAdd: c:\mrtg\rrdtool LogFormat: rrdtool WithPeak[_]: ymw workdir: c:\mrtg\wwwroot Options[_]: bits, growright routers.cgi*InMenu[$alreadyexistingrrdfile]: no routers.cgi*InOut[$alreadyexistingrrdfile]: no routers.cgi*InSummary[$alreadyexistingrrdfile]: no routers.cgi*InCompact[$alreadyexistingrrdfile]: no But this isn't showing up with the other config files on the web page. Do I need to define this in the routers2.conf file for it to come up? I'm trying to use the examples as templates, but this is a little over my head and it's hard to troubleshoot what you don't understand. From reading the MRTG and configuration instruction pages I feel like I understand the individual components (especially making and troubleshooting cfg files), but I don't see how the conf files or special scripting commands fit together. |
