| Post subject: | MRTG & RRD Integration on Windows |
Hi, I am running MRTG with Perl 5.10 on windows box in my network and is monitoring my firewall outside interface. I want to integrate MRTG with RRD tool, but without any luck. I downloaded the rrd from rrd site but it doesnot contains all required as per the documentation. Can some one help with good documentation for this integration and links where I can download the full rrdtoll. Thanks! Chetan |

Firstly, you need to be sure you have installed the RRDTool Windows package, and then the RRDTool Perl module. Under windows, the perl module should come with the package but check the installation instructions. Using ActivePerl, you can install the RRDs perl module via the PPM application, but you need to add the additional University of Winnipeg repository. This is at http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/ for Activeperl 5.8 Once you have done this, you can start using MRTG with RRDtool provided you have an appropriate frontend (eg Routers2) |

Hello, most current resource to get rrd with windows working is: The problem here is only the need for Perl 5.10 which is not longer available from activestate butcurrently have it available. If anyone successfully compiled rrdtool newer then RRDs v1.3.8 build for Perl 5.10 With working perl module installation please publish.... The Bits sucessfully compiled it but i could not get the perl module working (on Windows with AS Perl 5.10) |

The University of Winnipeg has repositories for Activeperl 10 and 12 -- http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/10xx/ (activeperl 10) http://cpan.uwinnipeg.ca/PPMPackages/12xx/ (activeperl 12) These pages also have links to other relevant repositories, so you might be able to find RRDTool there for your Perl version. |
