| Post subject: | Questions about the mrtg drawing |
hello,Steve I've used your cgi and it's very good. Thanks for your effort! However,I myself sometimes got the problem of small interval(maybe 5 secs) data collecting and I'm wishing to draw the data like the grah of mrtg does.Would you please let me know how to do that? Thanks! |

If you are using a 5-sec interval (how are you doing this? MRTG doesn't support anything less than 1 minute) then none of the standard display utilities will display this level of detail -- routers2 only goes down as low as a 1-min interval. You will need to code up something yourself using the RRDTool executable or Perl libraries. Tobi has excellent and extensive documentation on RRDTool on his web site, and for an example, see how routers2 does it. If you are not familiar with Perl, though, it will be complex to follow. You can then code up something to produce any sort of graph you require from teh data held in the rrd file. |

Well, seems I'll have to find another way out. Thanks anyway. I write a VC program to collect the data myself. However the displaying of data is not good since I can only use the line to connect all the data. And that's why I'm asking about this. OK,I'll try to learn perl and find out how to do this now |
