Recently we migrated one of our links from a layer3 to a layer2 dot1q trunk.. and we run multiple services off it all as different vlans.. before the migration as layer3 they all graphed perfectly.. but now as layer 2 the main interface interconnect shows the total usage perfectly, but the individual layer2 vlans show hardly anything ? ive rewalked, changed options etc, but no difference .. is there any way of graphing these layer2 tails with the correct data showing ? |

Well.. due to the 'overwhelming' response ive had, ive managed to do it differently, and move the interfaces onto one of our 7200's and graph them as subinterfaces again.. |

I guess noone here has ever done what youre asking about (or else they arent even sure exactly what it means This may be due to the way your particular hardware vendor implements the counters - Ive heard some subinterface situations will only graph a specific subset of traffic, for example, but I have no more details than that. I'd suggest looking on the mrtg.org site and see if anyone has sent Tobi a howto for your particular device and configuration? |
