| Post subject: | 95th Percentile Calculation using Extended RRA |
Hi, I am looking at calculating the 95th percentile using the 5 min average data for the past one month. I have enabled the "extendedtime" option in the router.conf. I have also configured "RRDRowCount[]=8640" in the .cfg file. Can I use the routers2.cgi to display the 1 month graph with 5 min average and calculate the 95th percentile for the month? Thanks Rgds |

Routers2 will automatically use whichever RRA provides the most accurate result. This means that, if you have a hugely extended 5-min RRA (as you have), the monthly 95th Percentile calculations will use this instead of the normal 2-hr RRA usually used for monthly 95th Percentile calculations. So, you don't need to do anything; its already doing what you want it to. |

Its partially working. I can see that the weekly chart is using 5 min average data when I export the CSV file. However, the monthly chart is still using 2 hrs average. I set my RRDRowCount to be 8640, is this correct? Thanks Rgds |

This problem is rectified by change the value from 8640 to ~9000. This is to cater for the month with 31 days. |

In fact, it is better to set it to over 9600 as the displayed graph has 400 cdp at 2hrs per cpd, which is 9600 5-min samples. If you try to set it to the bare minimum you might hit a fencepost error (where you lack only one cdp to get the 5min resolution so it drops back to 2hour) |
