Yes, I've found this in the current working version too. There is also a problem if you have the 'leaf' nodes at different levels. However, I think I may have fixed it... I'll post a beta8 in a week or so once its remained stable and I've returned to NZ from the USA where I am at the moment.
This multilevel menu code is a rather ugly bolt-on to the exisiting setup (it needs to be backwards-compatible, and the grouping itself was an ugly bolt-on), hence the experimental nature. Please, nobody enable it in a production system yet unless you're really brave/reckless!
