| Post subject: | Juniper question |
Hi, I am new to MRTG/RRDtool/Routers2.cgi. I am using the generic host and interface templates. I have a couple of questions: 1) how to configure the interface in the order they are listed in juniper? i.e. ge-0/0/1, ge-0/0/2.... etc instead of the default ge-0/0/1, ge-0/0/10, .... ge-0/0/19, ge-0/0/2... Note: I have ifref=name and ifdesc=alias (I need the alias) 2) on the 802.3ad interface, how can i display the links? for example I have ae0 and I want to show ge-0/1/2 and ge-0/1/3 TIA |

If Interfaces are missing form the menu, then they are not in your MRTG cfg file. You will need to pass appropriate options to cfgmaker when you generate the MRTG file so that these interfaces are included - some interface types are hidden by default, or are hidden because the router reports them as zero speed. Check the generated MRTG cfg file to see if they are there but commented out - the comments at the top of the section will tell you why it is commented out. To change the sort order, look in the routers2.conf file for the ifsort option. By default the interfaces are sorted alphabetically, but there are other options. You can also override the default target description for the interface so that the sorting happens as you prefer it to be. |
