In response to management asking for something they can understand, I have created a utility that works with the Shockwave gauge utility and displays the current values of targets as a gauge. It is also routers2-aware, and can display userdefined graphs. You just point it at a .cfg file and it does the rest. It requires the gauge.swf utility, which you can get from , and costs $35 to register. If you don't register, then the embedded links and autorefresh wont work (although you can still set an autorefresh on the web page holding the shockwave object). I will see if I can get an example up here. |

This sort of faded out when management realised they didnt know what they wanted after all. I haven't actually taken a look at it in a year... I'll take a look and see if it still works, and then try to get it packaged up in a useable form with instructions and so on. |

I have this working now (there were a couple of bugs) and will post something soon. In the meantime, take a look at https://monitor.auckland.ac.nz/ for an example. |

https://monitor.auckland.ac.nz/swfdemo.html This page has a demo, plus information on downloading the shockwave object and the publicxml.cgi script. |

Update: this is now $45 to register, but the unregistered version now supports refresh. |

I see nothing but a blank grey box. Wrong shockwave version maybe? I believe I'm using 9.1.1.5 or something along those lines. Same thing in Firefox and IE. |

It could be the version? I have v 9.0.124 installed here and it works. Their web site says the only requirement is v.6. I've noticed a couple of extra parameters they recommend to the SWF object on their site, so Ive added these. Its possible that you've configured your system with too much security? Have another try now Ive added these options. Their help page says a grey box indicates that the script cannot retrieve the swf object. Since you're looking at our test page which works for me from home (so not firewall or subnet issue) it might be a browser config issue? |

HI Steve, I would really love to get this working for my school district. Our current setup uses rrd-tools, is it possible?, and if so do you have any detailed instructions that you are willing to share? Thanks, Robert Arnold |
