| Post subject: | Help with Background with CPU Target |
Hi, I am a semi-newbie with MRTG/RRDTool and Router.cgi. I have added Steve's sample CPU target to one of my router .cfg files. It works great, but I am struggling with the background. Somehow I am getting a yellow background on only this new target. The routers2.cfg file shows while for the default bg etc. Mike |

This is a feature that seemed a good idea at the time. Basically, the background colour default depends on the Mode the graph is running in. The default colour, as specified in the routers2.conf, is overridder in several cases to indicate an automatically selected Mode. In this case, the selected mode is probably CPU (somehow the script has identified that you are graphing a CPU target) and has set a number of defaults appropriately. One of these is a yellow background colour. You can still override this on a target basis -- in the MRTG .cfg file, use the Background[targetname]: #ffffff directive -- but the routers2.conf default is no longer active. This is a default action that I regret having set... but it may now cause more confusion if it is removed. You also get different colours based on Memory, Ping and Generic target modes. Steve |
