Hello,

Many thanks Steve for your powerful application.

Our monitoring page has stopped giving us results. The last update date is the most current possible but the graphs have no data - no peaks or troughs.

The numeric entries underneath the graph say things like

Max In: -1.#J, bps (-1%)
Avg In: -1.#J, bps (-1%)
Cur In: -1.#J, bps (-1%)

Can someone please offer their experiences in similar situations? Even if it's to point me towards a relevant section in a manual?

Looks like your data collection routine is still running, but it is not managing to retrieve data from the remote device.
This can happen if the remote device is down, if its SNMP string has changed, if there is a network problem between, if SNMP is not running on the remote device, if your `` sciprt is not running correctly, or many other things.

Try running MRTG insteractively (on the command line) and see if it produces any error messages that help when it tries to collect the data.

We did change the read-only SNMP coomunity string back in November and so I think you're spot on with your comments.

However we only changed some strings, around 10 out of 60ish. One of those changes however was to the Passport and therefore there's a mismatch in strings.

Would MRTG stop working correctly for ALL devices even if we only changed some strings?

MRTG shouldn't stop collecting data to device B if it cant cnotact device A.

Try running MRTG from the command line on your .cfg files, and then you should be able to see any error messages it produces. Admittedly the error messages tend to be incomprehensible SNMP things, but you can pick out things like 'no response' or 'host did not resolve' and so on. Remember you get the same result if the remote SNMP agent is down or if the community string is wrong.
