What I would like to do is plot the rate of increasing in & out error counts for an interface below the BW in & out for the same interface ? the mirror command (I think) won't get me what i am looking for here . also any tips along these lines would sure help . Tia , JimL The below is a guess at monitioring the error stats on one interface on one router for error counts . # Created by # babydr as a hopeful first draft . ### Global Config Options # for UNIX # WorkDir: /home/http/mrtg # or for NT # WorkDir: c:\mrtgdata ### Global Defaults # to get bits instead of bytes and graphs growing to the right # Options[_]: growright, bits PathAdd: /usr/local/rrdtool/bin LogFormat: rrdtool EnableIPv6: no options[_]: growright, bits XSize[_]: 600 YSize[_]: 250 WithPeak[_]: ymw WorkDir: /var/www/htdocs/router2cgi/graphs routers.cgi*ShortDesc: MO-RTR02 TOK ### Interface 1 >> Descr: 'Serial1/0' | Name: 'Se1/0' | Ip: '192.168.3.1' | Eth: '' ### Target[mo-rtr01_1IE]: .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.14.1&.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.20.1:Gobbltygoop@mo-rtr01: SetEnv[mo-rtr01_1IE]: MRTG_INT_IP="192.168.3.1" MRTG_INT_DESCR="Serial1/0 Error Counts IN/OUT , Circuit ID: Provider1" Directory[mo-rtr01_1IE]: mo-rtr01 MaxBytes[mo-rtr01_1IE]: ??????? Ok , I have my combined graph now . Another gotcha , the i/o bit rate at the pointer doesn't function . This is quite understandable as there are 4 values instead of 2 & the routine would probably be quite confused in 'user defined mode' anyway . Never knowing what's actually being graphed . The time function doesn't have a problem of course . Hth , JimL |

The popup with current values doesnt work on any userdefined graphs yet, only on normal Targets. There are a number of problems with getting it to work on userdefineds, unfortunately - including the ones you mention. Glad to hear you've managed to make it work. Did you multiple the drop count by 1000 (or some other larger number) to make it visible on the same scale? |

Yes I did use a -LARGE- Factor ... -10000000 which is reasonable for the one or two interfaces (so far) showing any errors . As soon as I am certain I have these setup reasonably well I'll post a one interface example . Thank you for the pointers & Time . babydr(JimL) |
