Maybe I'm missing something however I can't seem to see a new device I just created a .cfg file for. I have been using this software for a few years without issue to monitor a router - I just added a new smtp device and I have configured it correctly and place the .cfg file and .rrd files into the same location as the old ones. The new device doesn't appear in the left hand Devices menu, the only way I can get the new device to display is to select it from the drop down Default Device box in the preference page then clicking "go to current default page" .... this displays the new device properly with all the right targets displaying, however my "old" device then doesn't display in the Devices and I need to go back to the preference page again. P.S. I have allowexplore = YES Any advise would be appreciated, Cheers |

Can you post some more info -- eg, the routers2.conf anf the cfg files? Check your confpath and cfgfiles settings in the routers2.conf are correct Check you don't have InMenu:no or Ignore:yes in the cfg file (unlikely). Also, check the date and time are correct on your browser PC and server -- possibly, the caching is causing you issues? Clear your browser cache and see if the problem goes away. Sometimes, MSIE will aggressively cache pages it shouldnt. |

Thanks for the feedback Steve ... I have "fixed" the problem via another method .... Originally I had this working without issue on an XP Server for years .. I recently migrated my server to a Mac mini and I had some legacy software (including routers2.cgi) that I ran under Win7 on VMware ... my "fix" was to install mrtg/rrdtools and routers2.cgi on the Mac and to abandon the windows version ... it took me a day or two to sort it out but now its running as advertised .... I converted my windows .rrd files to mac using rrdtools and all is good ... 3 All I need now is to work out the OIDs so I can monitor the Mac Minis temp/fan speed/cpu load etc ..... I thought there would be a lot of info available but I was wrong - at least the info I found hasn't help me so far ... Cheers |
