I don't know if it is Mac-related (I don't have a Mac here to test with). Are you running the server under MacOS, UNIX or Windows? I am unable to duplicate any error on this - at the moment, it runs fine for me here! I can't see anything in the code that would strip the first few bytes of the file, though if you are running the server under MacOS it is possible that you have a different Perl library implementation that works differently. |

The server itself is running on an OpenBSD 4.0 box. I have tried viewing from Safari and Firefox on a Mac, as well as IE on windows with the same result. |

Which version of Perl and CGI.pm are you using? Also, try running from the command line rather than via the web server and see if it works then. It may be due to an old version of Perl? |
