| Post subject: | Timezones +/- swapped? |
Hi Steve, hm, I do not understand the handling of timezones. I am currently testing with the "Timezone[foobar]: Country" code and I think it is swapped between + and -, because countries that sit "on the right" of mine should have an hour more than mine and not less. Another point: In the routers2.conf you say: "In hours relative to GMT/UCT. eg, Parts of US timezone = 5 eg, Denmark timezone = -1" But this exactly wrong since denmark is +1 and parts of the US are -5. (And I think it must be "UTC" and not "UCT" Or do I misunderstand something? Gerch |

The Timezone[] argument is handled according to your local OS timezone library; this means that what you can put in there depends on what is recognised by your system. The timezone argument in the routers2.conf is a last-ditch effort to deal with a timezone when you do not know how to specify it in the Timezone[] directive of the MRTG cfg file. In this case, it is simply an hour offset to use for the time conversion. I'll check, but it is likely for local -> UCT conversion, so would be backwards. I can't change this now and preserve backwards compatibility... As for UTC and UCT, either can be used, depending on if you're doing the abbreviation of the French or English name... Steve |
