1. You need to make sure that neither the targetname (the thing in [] in the .cfg file) nor the title, short description, or long description contain the IP address. Edit all of your .cfg files to set routers.cgi*ShortDesc[], routers.cgi*Description[], and also the device labels routers.cgi*Description: routers.cgi*ShortDesc: , to remove this, and of course make sure the targetnames do not mention the IP. Also,if you are using extensions, you'll have to stop as this passes the IP in the URL. This can be a lot of work. 2. You can do this through personal preferences. The next version, 2.17 (currently in beta) allows you to specify a default view in the routers2.conf - before that, you couldn't pick 6hour. Also, not all graphs are capable of 6hour, remember. 3. With rrdtool 1.0 you could not change the fonts in the graphs. rrdtool1.2 has support for it, but routers2 does not support this yet. The fonts in the pages cannot be changed yet, but when routers.cgi v2.17 comes out it should support stylesheets, so you'll be able to pick whatever you want. |

| Post subject: | Rename Device |
I was able to rename my devices by renaming the config file for the respected device in: C:\mrtg\mrtg\bin and then I updated the chronjobs at: C:\mrtg\cron\crontab so that name matched the name in the BIN directory. Then all of my devices have a friendly name, and everything seems to work great. -Nate |
