I've got an issue with the way my summary page is sorted. Interfaces appear in the order shown below:

GigabitEthernet1/1
GigabitEthernet1/10
GigabitEthernet1/11
GigabitEthernet1/12
GigabitEthernet1/2
...
GigabitEthernet1/9

I've tried updating my descriptions to things like:
GigabitEthernet1/1 - Uplink to Primary #1
GigabitEthernet1/6 - Uplink to Primary #2
GigabitEthernet1/2 - Uplink to Secondary #1
GigabitEthernet1/7 - Uplink to Secondary #2

Unfortunately, the sorting still does not work as my PHB would like. It seems to continue sorting by interface name.

I have also changed the routers2.conf file to include 'ifsort = desc' and 'ifdefault = cfgmaker', used 'routers.cgi*Desc[interfacename]:' directives in my MRTG .cfg files, and modified cfgmaker to generate ifref with the description before the interface name.

None of the above has worked. Can someone tell me what I might be missing? There must be a simple way to do this, right?

Hmm - the summary page /should/ be sorted in the same way as the Targets menu, using the same function. This was since 2.14beta4. I've run some tests here, and it seems to be sorting for me as I expect.

The normal sorting is asciibetically by short description (the name in the Targets menu), resulting in the ordering you show before ( 1 < 11 < 2 < 22, etc etc ). There are sort options in routers2.conf to also sort by type or by icon before sorting by description.

If you use routers.cgi*ShortDesc[targetname]:xx or else use SetEnv[targetname]:MRTG_INT_DESCR="xx" to set the short description to something that sorts asciibetically (maybe prefix descrption with 01:, 02:, etc?) then it should work?
