HI I'm using Nagios 3.5.0 and have just found your utility downtime_schedular. I believe I have installed it correctly but have a problem. I see the item added to the left side menu but when I click on it I am presented with a windows open or save dialogue box, if I click open the file is displayed in notepad instead of a configuration page to schedule downtime. I'm using IE8 to display the nagios web gui. |

OK removed the setup and started a fresh and it is now working properly and the confiuration page is displaying. Question regarding process: Configure host or service that you want scheduled for downtime via new option "Recurring Downtime". Crontab job runs, default every hour. Should a new entry appear in the standard downtime menu screen which actually performs the scheduled downtime? As a test I configured a service for downtime but it still appeared as being down within the Tactical view. |

The cron job will schedule the next occurrence of each of the recurring downtimes. It will not schedule for ones that started in the past, and it will only schedule the /next/, not the one after that - after the next downtime runs, then it will schedule the following one, and so on. So, if the recurring schedule would already have started, then it will ignore this one and schedule for the next ocurrence. |
