I will look into this, since on first glance it seems to be a bug. You're sure it's not down to a slow processing of the .cmd file by Nagios? If you have this set to 60s it might slow things down. There also might be something else with a 2-min timeout on send... you don't have multiple defined Nagios NSCA seervers defined with the first one unavailable?

I will post here if I can/cannot duplicate. This may be an issue tickled by your particular configuration.
