| Post subject: | Problems with Nagios EventLog SCM and Windows 2003 |
Hello, I'm running Version 1.8.3 of Nagios Eventlog Service Control Manager on Windows 2003. I get the following Error in my "Event Viewer" on my Windows 2003 server when trying to send Nagios data to my Nagios Server: "Winsock error 997 trying to send to NSCA. Check the error logs for the NSCA server!" Any idea what to check for? I ran the "Test NSCA Daemon" and it seem to work fine. On the Nagios server side, I get the error message: Apr 12 08:37:04 daaps01 nrpe[29158]: [ID 421412 daemon.error] Could not read request from client, bailing out... Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! |

Never mind. I missed the first rule. You have actually installed NSCA on your Nagios box. |

Apr 12 09:46:14 nsca Received invalid packet type/version from client - possibly due to client using wrong password or crypto algorithm? I have a "!" as part of my password. I place a \ in front of it in the nsca.cfg file. Does it need to be in double-quotes? For testing purposes I also have encryption turned off (set to zero). |

I got it working. I had to enable "External Commands" in Nagios configuration. |
