Hey Steve, I'm just wondering if rrdextend should modify the "step" from the default 300, to 60 when using 1min intervals. Also, I've noticed that when MRTG creates new RRD's when Interval: 1 is specified, it only modifies rra[0] and rra[4], and the step. Everything else is virtually the same with the row count at 800. I think there have been others that might've mentioned this, but I couldn't find it while searching the forum. Thanks, Adam |

Extending the length of the RRAs is much simpler than changing the step size. When the step size changes, so do all the RRA definitions and RRD internals; this is why the step size cannot be changed with rrdtune. Similarly, the rrdextend script is only intended to double the size of the RRAs (something no longer required with standard MRTG, as the current version already creates RRD files with sufficiently long RRAs) |
