This looks OK, except that you need a DOUBLE - for the options -- --warn, --crit and so on.

The thresholds you specified (2 and 5) would mean that this is a 'warning' status.

The Nagios plugins return status by the exit code. So, immediately after running check_vmware, do 'echo $?' and you should see 0 for OK, 1 for warning, 2 for critical and 3 for unknown. This status is picked up by Nagios to give the plugin status.

Mmmm .... which tells me is correct. The problem is that the thresholds configured always gave me OK. type: --warn = 15 --crit = 10 .... and it worked!
