most of the checks are running very well, thank you !

I don't know whats wrong.

I scheduled the Check every 5 Minutes, but it is still gathering data....

It looks as if there are some problems with reading the /proc/vmware/sched/cpu file under ESX 3.x. We only have 2.x here so I have not been able to do much testing on 3.x, but it helps a lot that you have printed the output of the vmware-stats program.

Can you please post all or some of the contents of the /proc/vmware/sched/cpu file here? This will help me compare it to the expected format. I suspect that the vmware-stats program is having difficulties identifying the correspondence between vhost name and VMID, which results in the 'unknown-xxx' stats.

Also, please tell me the *exact* version of ESX you are using. Sadly, the format of the /proc/vmware tree files changes between all the versions and is undocumented, hence its somewhat awkward to anticipate changes...

It looks as if there is no longer a match between the VMID, the SNMP VMID, and the mem/cpu VMIDs. Argh. Also the CPU threads seem to have been split up into IO and other things. This means a fairly major change to vmware-stats to get it properly working for individual vhosts, I think...

Can I also impose on you to email me a copy of snmpwalk for the enterprises.6876 tree?

As I thought - in ESX 3, the VMID reported by SNMP no longer matches the VMID reported in the /proc/vmware tree. I'll have to find some way around this. I wonder which one is reported by Virtualcenter?

I don't know where to look at vmcenter, which id will be used.

Now I have the info I need, I will be working to get this properly supported.

I have also found the location of the syscall counters, which will let me raise an alarm when you have a virtual host that is using too many syscalls (and it therefore slowing down ESX and is not a good candidate for virtualisation)

Give me a few weeks on this one, 'real' work is busy for the moment.
