| Post subject: | check_esx3 |
Hello Steve, thank you for your work. I tried the check_esx3 plugin. It partially works, but it does not return values for MEM (UNKNOWN: Problem reading memory data on ESX server) and CPU (UNKNOWN: No saved CPU statistics available - please wait for next poll.) Could it be due to dual CPU host as you mentioned? Regards Zdenek |

These errors might indicate a problem with the vmware-stats script on the ESX server. Make sure you have installed vmware-stats on the ESX server correctly, and that the SNMP agent is correctly running. Try running /etc/vmware-stats on the host itself and see if it gives any error messages. This is why I didn't want to release it just yet |

Hi, first thanks for your great job !!! i've downloaded the esx3 beta2. It works fine for memory but not for CPU. when i try vmware-stats on my esx i obtain the following : Illegal division by zero at /etc/snmp/vmware-stats line 281. hoping that can help you. |

Yup, this is a known problem, and fixed in the current dev version. It's caused by there not being any initial saved state. Unfortunately I've not been able to find any time to work on this recently, but hopefully I can put up a b3 in the next couple of weeks with at least this bug fixed, plus the check_vcup and check_vmem utils, plus the dual-vcpu bug fixed. |
