I have a problem checking virtual machines. ./check_esx2 -N -H host -C public -v 0 -l STATE >No virtual hostname specified with -v I have tested -v with: vmIdx (1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.2.1.1.1) vmDisplayName (1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.2.1.1.2) vmConfigFile (1.3.6.1.4.1.6876.2.1.1.3) and with return from -l LIST (1/1) ¿what virtual machine reference must i use? Whit Virtual Machine memory ./check_esx2 -N -H 192.168.0.20 -C public -v 0 -l MEM -w 80 -c 90 Memory free: 3790Mb (92.69%) [Total available 4088.74Mb] Data return is Memory from VMWare server. I think my problem is VirtualMachine Name too. Thanks. |

Thanks for reply Steve. Perhaps, problem is snmp config... I have only a Windows Virtual machine named "W3K3-1" Listing Virtual Host: # ./check_esx2 -N -H 192.168.0.20 -C public -l LIST VHosts: 0/1 up: W2K3-1 #./check_esx2 -N -H 192.168.0.20 -C public -v W2K3 -l STATE or #./check_esx2 -N -H 192.168.0.20 -C public -v W2K3-1 -l STATE I have no results to check. Thanks. |

The last 2 should both have produced an output (telling you the vhost is down). What message do you get? I will check this, it *might* be something to do with having no vhosts running at all (the ESX server helpfully removes the entire MIB tree in some cases) |

You are right. Problem is when there is no anything machine running. If there is not machine running, there is not response in plugin. Whit machine running I get response: >check_esx2 -N -H 192.168.0.20 -C public -v W2K3-1 -l STATE VHost W2K3-1 is up (ID: 142) Thanks Steve. |
