Dear Team,

I am new in this forum and sorry if my question is posted here earlier. I am facing problem in routers2.cgi compact summary csv output. After analyse i come to know i am not getting output of only those targets which is having "-" (minus) sign in mrtg config file. How should i get those graphs in compact summary without change my mrtg config file or is there any other way to get those data.

Target[test1]: -29:mak\@@10.10.1.1:
SetEnv[test1]: MRTG_INT_Ip="10.10.1.1" MRTG_INT_DESCR="test1"
Directory[test1]: test
MaxBytes[test1]: 4000000
Title[dsl_mp_bpl_bund_eth1]: Traffic Analysis for test device.

..... Thanks .... Anuj.

Update1: After digging this issue i came to know i am not able to get output of some devices in compact summary while it is reflecting on information as well as in menu. Also i am getting its graphs in MRTG and router2.cgi defult menu.

Update2: I have configured two cisco 7613 switch in mrtg and i am getting output of both in mrtg. But i am getting output only for one switch in routers2.cgi .My mrtg configuration is same for both switches. Is there any way to debug it and check the logs.

Usually, routers.cgi*InCompact[xxx]:yes will correct the situation when a Target is not automatically chosen to be in the ocompact summary.

Something will only be in the Compact summary if (a) it has a Maxbytes, (b) it does not have nomax set.

If you send me your cfg file I can take a look for any obvious errors.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for reply.

I am using mrtg version -2.16.2.

Please find my mrtg config file as attachment. Without putting routers.cgi*InCompact[test1]: yes everything is working fine.

Sorry, one more thing i want to update you i have modified router2.cgi to get desired data at line 6942, 6974,7004,7034.
I have tested it and didnot found any issue with other parameters.... please have a look.

Also i am sending you routers2.conf and routers2.cgi ( i renamed it as reports.cgi) for your reference.
Due to upload file size restriction i have sent you my mrtg config file to your id "s.shipway@auckland.ac.nz ".
Thanks ... Anuj.

Sorry, new baby arrived last week so I'm off on Paternity leave and not able to spend any real time on this. Once things quieten down I still have the email queued up

Steve

Back at work now, and investigating this.

May be caused by the @ symbol in the community causing Routers2 to pick the wrong Target defaults, though the InCompact directive should correct this.

The syntax error may be due to unexpected characters in the config file caused by editing under Windows in unicode mode?

Hi Steve,

Sorry for delaying in response.

You are correct this may be due to @ symbol in the community string. In my case i have other symbols too in routers snmp communities.

Is there any way to continue use these symbol without changing all routers snmp communities.

Thanks.
Anuj.
