I have about 200 total devices that I am polling and when it polls the cpu on the server is at 100%. I have read through several of the areas about this and found that we should use a master.cfg file to include the other files but break it up into a few master files to spread the load.

My big problems seems to be that I also have grouping configured and have the actual config files in seperate directories so in the master.cfg files I have something like the following:

Include: dir1/router1.cfg
Include: dir2/router2.cfg

The error is that it says it can not find the file dir1/router1.cfg when it runs in cron.

Try using an absolute pathname, it is probably running relative to your CWD. Alternatively, used cd to change to your cfg file base directory before calling mrtg.
