in the folder: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cgi-bin I have the following files:
routers2.cgi
routers2.cgi.pl
routers2.conf
routers2.pl
routers2-old.cgi
routers2-old.pl
routeringtable.chi.pl

and http://localhost/cgi-bin/routers2.pl gives me the same result.

opening http://localhost/cgi-bin/routers2.pl gives me my default web page but in frames, it looks like the top, left, and middle frames of the routers2.cgi interface, but not the right frame. I opened http://localhost/cgi-bin/routers2?page=verify and everything came up and looked OK, except it couldn't find any .ok files or RRD files to draw.

EDIT: I opened http://localhost/cgi-bin/routers2.cgi.pl in IE and it game me a pink page that said
"ERROR
Cannot read config file /u01/etc/routers2.conf"

I don't even know what that directory is!?!?!

Did you install this using the install.pl script? The '/u01/etc/routers2.conf' error indicates that you still have the default values in the configuration, which are automatically replaced by the install.pl script. It is possible that you installed it in a different way previously, or unpacked the package in the cgi-bin directory.

It also sounds as if you may have the infamous IIS bug (IIS does not support the standard CGI interface correctly) and so you may need to set the 'myurl' setting in the routers2.conf to point to the correct full URL of the routers2 script to get around it.

http://localhost/cgi-bin/routers2.pl is probably the correct URL to use, if you have IIS. The .cgi extension is for all other web servers (eg Apache) but IIS, as usual, needs special treatment.

Look in c:\scsmrtg\rrd-data for routers2.conf (or wherever else you chose to install it) and edit this to set 'myurl = http://yourhost/cgi-bin/routers2.pl' (change yourhost to your hosts fully qualified name of course) and this should fix the problem.

Steve,
I'll be away from the workstation I'm trying to implement routers2.cgi on until Friday. I'll let you know then whether or not this works.

It's definitely a data collection problem. I originally copied all these config files from another server that is running MRTG and routers2.cgi and the server I'm working on is for redundancy. I also copied the rrd data files. These are the files that are not updating when I run the following command: "wperl mrtg --logging=eventlog cms1.cfg" I have tried removing the rrd data files and run the configs but it doesn't regenerate any rrd files.

Also, I don't know if this is relevant or not, but if I try running "perl mrtg --logging=eventlog cms1.cfg" from the command line rather than WPERL, I get the following error: "Can't open perl script "mrtg": No such file or directory" How could wperl run mrtg but not perl?
