Weird - this would indicate its not name length causing the problem, nor is it cfg file contents.

Another thought - possibly it is directory permissions blocking the web service from reading the directory contents? If your system supports extended ACLs then test these as well, and make sure you have at least read+exec permissions for everyone on these directories. Also, if you're using SELINUX this can cause permissions problems with a CGI script reading the cfg files.

I have a similar problem after upgrading from 2.20 to 2.21

My cfg:

[targetnames]

/etc/mrtg/conf/routers-ext = Routers Esterni
/etc/mrtg/conf/routers-tix = Routers TIX
/etc/mrtg/conf/routers-telecom = Routers Telecom
/etc/mrtg/conf/routers-sanita = Routers Sanita
/etc/mrtg/conf/firewall-giunta = Firewall Giunta
/etc/mrtg/conf/backbone = Backbone RTRT
/etc/mrtg/conf = All

i see only 'All' Devices

In /etc/mrtg/conf i have a all.cfg which include *.cfg mrtg file (routers-ext, routers-tix, etc)

any suggestions?

solved changing:

cfgfiles = *.cfg
to
cfgfiles = *.cfg */*.cfg

mhm .. if i use the old routers2.conf work, but not work using last cfg .. probabily something is wrong in the new cfg

Is there any way to access the summary row of the second level group and use it to generate the value for the 1st level group?

Not quite sure what you mean there; groups are only used to group together sets of Devices (CFG files) and so do not have any summary pages themselves unless you manually create a dummy device for them to perform this task.
