Hi all,

Trying to use v2.4 to monitor ESXv3.5 servers, and I keep getting errors on the vmware.nagios.template.cfg file.

I think I followed the installation instructions pretty closely, but it seems to not recognise any of the variables used, such as %time%, %notifytime%, svc-passive etc.

Any ideas what I've done wrong?

Those variables in the example configurations are just placeholders to show you the sort of thing you need to put in.

The check_esx2 (as I shipped it) does not work correctly with ESX3.5 or ESX3i.

There is a new check_vmware currently in beta which uses the Perl API instead and works with all the versions of ESX.
